Spidergram

Whilst looking at the Module 1 Part 2 handbook I came across the task of ‘Make a mindmap or spidergram’. This gave me some food for thought so below is my example. Can you suggest anything I may need to change or add? Do you do anything different?

Would love to have your input and also view your spidergrams too.

  1. Hi Jade. Its interesting our life as a dance teacher isn't it? I don't think we realise just how much we do until we write it out!! I remember my son wanted to use my business as an example of a business that uses IT for his IT class. His teacher said that he couldn't as a dance teacher does not use IT HAhaha I wrote the teacher a list of all the times I used a computer in my studio/work. He was amazed. We probably spend more time on research, planning, shopping for costumes than we do actual teaching!

Well done with the spider map x

    1. Thanks for your reply Debbie! I know right we are in show season at the moment and the costumes drive me wild spending time on them and spending money. Lol at IT teacher how did he think we cut music .... with scissors aha glad you proved him wrong. Hope to catch up again soon :)

    2. Hi Jade. Your spider map is really clear and shows how much goes into just preparing an exam session. This is something I do all the time but I have not ever thought about what it actually entails. Thank you.
Regarding Debbies comment: Using Quest the new online examination tool from the ISTD requires solid IT skills and that is just the start. Most dance teachers have accounts and student databases, timetabling tools and music editing suites. I know I use the internet to order costumes, I watch films and shows to keep me up to date in developments in dance and I am not alone in doing this. I think we qualify as IT users.

    3. Hi Cat! Thanks for your comments agreed YouTube videos and finding new music on say a street dance have inspired me to create a tap dance. In regards to GDPR and Quest etc a minefield and a definite use of computers. We are certainly IT warriors :)
